NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aquinas College’s Benefit Dinner featuring His Excellency, The Most Reverend Timothy Michael Dolan, Tenth Archbishop of New York, will take place Monday, November 9th, at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville. The evening will begin with a reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. As champion of evangelization, Archbishop Dolan’s keynote address is titled Obeying His Last Command: Go, Teach all the Nations.
“We are honored to have Archbishop Dolan as this year’s speaker,” said Sister Mary Peter, O.P., president of Aquinas College. “This will be a wonderful opportunity for our community to hear this gregarious and compassionate prelate of the Roman Catholic Church speak about his profound knowledge of issues affecting the Church and society as a whole. He has a deep love of the priesthood and interest in the vitality of the Catholic Church. It will be a privilege to hear him speak on the importance and challenges of evangelization in today’s world.”
The work of Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan in the area of seminary education has influenced the life and ministry of a great number of priests of the new millennium. He is the author of several books including: Called To Be Holy, To Whom Shall We Go? Lessons from the Apostle Peter, and Priests for the Third Millennium.
Ordained to the priesthood in 1976, Archbishop Dolan was named Archbishop of Milwaukee in 2002 where he faithfully served for seven years, and he was installed as Archbishop of New York on April 15, 2009, after being named by Pope Benedict XVI.
Being honored at the dinner are St. Thomas Aquinas Society Inductees, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Yopp. Mr. Yopp serves as vice chairman of Aquinas College’s Board of Directors and is a partner at the law firm of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis. Jon Laster (’07) and Chris Climer (’06) will be honored as distinguished alumni award recipients as well.
Tickets to the Benefit Dinner are $150.00 each for the dinner; $375 per
person for the dinner and private reception; $75.00 per person for young
alumni tickets (Aquinas College Classes of 1999-2009). Tables of 8 are
available for $1,200, and sponsorship opportunities are available. For
